The Romanian parliament on Tuesday ratified Croatia's Treaty of Accession with the European Union, the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
The Romanian parliament unanimously adopted the decision to ratify the treaty (378 votes). The decision is now expected to be upheld by Romanian President Traian Basescu.
Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic, who is currently in Luxembourg at a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council, thanked Romanian for the ratification.
Czech President Vaclav Klaus today signed the ratification document on Croatia's admission in the European Union and thus completed the ratification of Croatia's EU Accession Treaty in the Czech Republic.
Slovakia was first to ratify Croatia's Accession Treaty (1 February). Apart from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Croatia's Treaty of Accession with the bloc has also been ratified by Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Malta, Latvia, Cyprus and Lithuania.
For Croatia to join the EU on 1 July 2013, the treaty must be ratified by all EU member states.
