Ivo Sanader has fled the country! This has been confirmed for tportal.hr by Interior Ministry spokesman Krunoslav Borovec. When asked how Sanader had escaped, Borovec stated that the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) had no warrant for Sanader's arrest or orders to detain him and thus were unable to stop him from crossing the Croatian-Slovenian border at Bregana at 11:45 a.m.
Sanader left his residence in Kozarceva Street in a black Opel Vectra with Zagreb plates at 10:5 a.m. this morning.
Photojournalists outside his residence were able to capture him from behind.
Tportal's news team attempted to contact him by phone, but his private cell has been shut off.
Sanader has Croatian and Austrian citizenship and it is believed that he has fled to second homeland.
