One of the two workers of the Pliva pharmaceutical company who sustained serious injuries in a fire in Pliva's Zagreb plant last Friday, has died, the company said on Monday.
The condition of the other injured worker is not critical and he is recovering in a Zagreb hospital. The other Pliva workers who were hospitalised due to smoke inhalation have been released.
The fire that broke out in Pliva's production plant was caused by an explosion in the Pharmaceutical Technical Operations building.
Nine people were injured in the fire.
An investigation into the causes of the incident is under way.
