Twelve Croatian companies, led by the INA oil company and the Agrokor concern, made this year's list of the 500 biggest companies in Central Europe, compiled by the Deloitte consulting and auditing company, Zagrebacka Banka (ZABA) was ranked among the ten biggest banks, while Croatia Osiguranje (CO) fared best among the insurance companies.
INA ranked 28th on the list with a revenue of EUR 3.97 billion in 2012. Agrokor ranked 30th with EUR 3.95 billion, the HEP power supplier ranked 101st with EUR 1.68 billion, while the Konzum retail chain ranked 106th with EUR 1.62 billion.
Croatian companies are stagnating in relation to the rest of Europe, Ivica Kresic, Deloitte's financial advisor, said at a presentation of the rankings on Wednesday.
In terms of net profit, the best Croatian companies are the T-HT telecom with EUR 225 million and the INA Group with EUR 78.3 million. T-HT ranked 206th on the overall rankings.
ZABA ranked 10th on Deloitte's list of the 50 biggest banks and insurance companies, with EUR 16 billion in assets, Privredna Banka Zagreb ranked 24th and Erste Banka 30th.
CO ranked 19th among insurance companies, while Allianz Zagreb ranked 49th.
