The ski run on Mt Sljeme overlooking the capital Zagreb is ready for the ladies' and men's FIS World Cup ski championship slalom races scheduled for Friday and Sunday, the head of the competition's organising committee Reno Fleiss said on Wednesday.

"The ski run is in excellent shape, sufficiently firm and not too icy but not too soft either, just like most world skiers like it," Fleiss said ahead of the ninth edition of the Snow Queen Trophy.

The final touches are being added to have the run ready for training on Thursday and to set up the run for the ladies' slalom.

The public drawing of pairs for the women's slalom will be held on Thursday in Zagreb's main square. The first race will begin on Friday at 3.45 PM and the second is scheduled for 6.30 PM.

The men's pairs will be drawn on Saturday at 6.45 PM and the first race will be on Sunday at 10.45 AM and the second is set to start at 2 PM.

Seven Croatian skiers will compete in the races, including Croatia's best male skier Ivica Kostelic.

A special race will be held on Sunday with skiing legends participating, such as Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli, Kristian Ghedina, Janica Kostelic and many other world famous skiers.
