Austrian Justice Minister Beatrix Karl has signed the decision for the extradition of former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to Croatia, the Austrian justice ministry's spokeswoman, Dagmar Albegger said on Monday.
There are no more obstacles for his transfer, Albegger said adding that it was now up to the court in Salzburg, where Sanader has been kept in detention since mid-December 2010, to decide on further steps in this case.
The Zagreb-based lawyer for Sanader, Goran Suic, said last Friday that Sanader's extradition could be expected this week.
The Croatian USKOK anti-corruption investigating agency has launched several investigations into the former premier on suspicion of his involvement in graft and other white-collar crimes.
However, no indictment has yet been issued.
