Croatia’s best female athlete and the world high jump champion Blanka Vlasic, won a high jumper meeting of the Continental Cup in Split on Sunday by clearing 205 cm.
Supported by more than 25.000 fans in the city’s Poljud stadium, Vlasic tried to set a new world record, her attempt to clear 209 cm was not successful.
Around 400 top athletes competed at Poljud on Saturday and Sunday, representing their continents.
Among them were Blanka Vlasic and the discuss thrower Sandra Perkovic, representing Europe.
Perkovic was second in the women’s discus thrower competition.
