Bosnia and Herzegovina will launch the process of amending the existing agreement on border crossing with Croatia and the primary objective is resolving the difficulties citizens living in the border regions are faced with, the Bosnian presidency said in a statement on Wednesday.
After the session of the Bosnian collective presidency which was held behind closed doors in Sarajevo on Wednesday, a press released was issued reading that a conclusion was adopted to launch the proceedings aimed at amending the agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia on border crossings.
The conclusion was adopted as the everyday flow of people and goods between the two countries has been made more difficult and Bosnian citizens living in the so-called border region suffer the most, the statement said.
The initiative of the three-member presidency was forwarded to the Council of Ministers which is now in charge of the further implementation of the decision.
Following Croatia's EU entry on July 1, the number of border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina has been reduced.
