The re-appointed Chief State Prosecutor, Mladen Bajic, was sworn in by Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic on Friday.
After taking oath, Bajic told reporters that with his work he had confirmed that he could serve his third term.
"There can be no pressure on me from any side," Bajic said.
The Chief State Prosecutor's Office and the anti-corruption agency USKOK are continuously working on all corruption cases and I am confident that we will achieve even better results in the coming period.
The parliament on February 12 appointed Mladen Bajic for his third consecutive term in office.
A total of 83 deputies voted for Bajic's appointment, 34 were against and one deputy abstained.
Justice Minister Ivan Simonovic said Bajic's performance was impressive.
"The number of people convicted of corruption and organised crime in 2009 went up by 138 percent compared to the year before," Simonovic said, adding that this showed that Bajic had done his job and that courts carried out speedy proceedings.
Asked about political pressures during the rule of former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, the minister said that this had eased since Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor stepped into office.
