This year's findings of the Global Competitiveness Report show that Croatia has moved up six placed, jumping from the 81st to the 75th place, while Switzerland has kept its title as the world's most competitive economy for the fifth year running.

The Geneva-based World Economic Forum said on Wednesday the same economies made the top 10 as last year, but in a different order.

Singapore and Finland remained in second and third place respectively in the Forum's annual Global Competitiveness Report.

Germany, the United States, Hong Kong and Japan all edged up while Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom all slipped by two or three notches.

The Global Competitiveness Report 2013-2014 assesses the competitiveness landscape of 148 economies, providing insight into the drivers of their productivity and prosperity. The Report series remains the most comprehensive assessment of national competitiveness worldwide. It is compiled by the World Economic Forum which is most famous for bringing together politicians and billionaires at an annual shindig in the Alpine resort of Davos.
