The Czech Senate on Wednesday unanimously ratified Croatia's Treaty of Accession to the European Union, the Croatian foreign and European affairs ministry reported on Thursday.
Fifty nine senators, who attended the session, voted for the treaty. In order to bring the ratification process to a conclusion, the treaty should be now ratified by the Chamber of Deputies in the Czech Parliament and to be signed by Czech President Vaclav Klaus.
The parliament's lower house is expected to discuss and endorse the document on 5 June and the entire process can be completed by the end of June.
So far, the Croatia-EU accession treaty has been ratified by Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Malta and Latvia.
