A free parking zone with 550 places was opened in downtown Zagreb, in Paromlinska Street, close to the city government building, on Wednesday.
The parking zone was opened by Mayor Milan Bandic, who said the zone was intended for all people coming to the city centre in their cars. They will be able to park in the zone free of charge and it is expected that it will be possible to leave the car in the zone for a maximum 12 hours in one go.
Davor Jelavic of the city office for physical planning, environmental protection and construction, said the parking zone cost 4.5 million kuna.
