The government's public relations office on Wednesday responded to media reports that the government would replace the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Podravka food company, Ljubo Jurcic, and appoint Nadan Vidosevic to that post, dismissing the reports as false.
"Claims about the reported replacement of Ljubo Jurcic as chairman of Podravka's Supervisory Board are not true," the government said in a statement.
It also dismissed as insinuations claims that "(Peasant Party leader) Josip Friscic has won in the fight to keep Podravka under the influence of politicians, whereby he and PM Kosor have tricked pension funds".
"There are no changes in the Podravka Supervisory Board. Such tendentious reports are directed against efforts to stabilise the company and are deplorable," the government said in the statement.
