Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Friday delivered postal money orders to pensioners in a old people's home in Zagreb at a ceremony marking the beginning of the fourth installment of compensation for previously non-adjusted pensions.
On that occasion, Kosor said that over HRK 826 million was being paid to more than 140,000 retirees.
This is huge money ensured in an economically tough year, Kosor said recalling that so far HRK 7.5 billion had been paid as compensation to pension recipients.
An additional HRK 830 million will be given to pensioners for this purpose in 2011 and the same amount is envisaged in 2012.
The payment of compensation should be completed in 2013 with the allocation of the remaining HRK 112 million.
Pension recipients whose pensions were not adjusted to salaries from September 1993 to the end of 1998 are entitled to compensation.
