The Interior Ministry has decided to extend security for former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader for another six months.
Ministry spokesman Krunoslav Borovec said on Thursday that Sanader's security was extended, but considerably reduced, after an estimate made after the expiration of the second six-month period of providing security for the ex-premier.
Borovec refuted media speculations that security for Sanader, who resigned in early July 2009, cost some HRK 10 million a year, saying "the cost is several times lower."
