Croatian Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko and historian Ivo Banac addressed a public panel debate in the southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the European Day of Remembrance for the victims of all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes, underlining that all attempts to rehabilitate Titoism and cover up the truth about communist crimes must be prevented.
At the public panel debate, Banac warned that “all apologetics of the Yugoslav Communism are hiding behind the fig leaf of anti-fascism", although they know very well what kind of crimes were committed during the Josip Broz Tito regime.
Minister Karamarko said that Nazism and Fascism invented the industry of death, adding that however that communist manufacturers of death must not be covered up either. He said that in 1937 alone, Joseph Stallin killed 3 million people.
The event was organised by the Association 1944/45.
