Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Wednesday attended a lunch given by the head of the European Union Delegation, Paul Vandoren. Also attending were EU ambassadors in Croatia.
According to a statement from the government's press service, Kosor informed the ambassadors about the pace of Croatia's EU membership negotiations, focusing on the negotiating chapters Competition Policy, and Judiciary and Fundamental Rights.
Kosor reiterated that Croatia expected to close the remaining chapters by the end of this year or at the beginning of the next and to sign the accession treaty in the spring of 2011. She stressed the determination and political will of her government in combating corruption.
Ambassador Vandoren said that Croatia had made considerable progress over the past year and was now in the final stages of accession negotiations.
Also attending were Justice Minister Drazen Bosnjakovic and Economy Minister Djuro Popijac.
