The seventh Croatian parliament begins its first regular session on Wednesday and, according to announcements by Speaker Boris Sprem, it will discuss, among other things, a bill to revoke privileged pensions.
There are seven items on the agenda so far, including a government report on Croatia's accession negotiations with the European Union, which the Sabor will discuss on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the session begins with Question Time. Twenty-four MPs have announced they will put questions to the Zoran Milanovic Cabinet, half of whom are from the opposition Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). Only six are from the ruling coalition and none from Milanovic's Social Democrats (SDP).
The Sabor is expected to confirm a decision by the Credentials and Privileges Commission last week to strip Ivan Drmic of the HDSSB party of parliamentary immunity from prosecution for attempting to bribe Supreme Court judges to change a verdict convicting Branimir Glavas of war crimes.
Tomorrow, MPs are also expected to decide on the appointment of chairs and members of committees who have not been appointed yet.
Parliament is also scheduled to discuss reports on the work of the State Prosecutor's Office, the central bank, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and the Financial Agency.
