As of September 15, the OTP bank will offer its Croatian clients housing loans pegged to the Croatian currency kuna, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.
The interest rate on kuna housing loans for young people will be fixed at 4.99% (effective interest rate 5.98%) in the first two years of loan repayment, and for the rest of the payment period it will be a variable rate of 5.99%.
Standard housing loans will have an interest rate of 5.49% (effective rate 6.28%), fixed for the first two years of payment, after which the interest rate will be a variable rate of 6.25%.
Kuna housing loans with the fixed interest rate in the first two years of repayment will be issued in the amount of between EUR 15,001 and EUR 250,000.
By introducing kuna housing loans, the OTP is following the example of the Croatian Postal Bank (HPB) which recently decided to offer its clients housing loans pegged to the Croatian currency.
