An indictment was issued by the Zagreb Municipal Prosecutor's Office against nine hooligans for an attack against a bus carrying fans of the Greek PAOK football club in Zagreb last December, when four persons were injured.
The prosecution holds the nine hooligans, aged between 18 and 23, to be responsible for a hate attack and for endangering lives and property.
At about 1300 hrs on 14 December, the nine men, together with dozens of other unidentified bullies, stoned the bus carrying from Zagreb airport some 40 VIP guests of the PAOK football club who was to play Dinamo Zagreb the following day. After smashing windows on the bus, the attackers threw into the bus several flares that caused a minor fire.
The prosecution accuses the attackers of having intended to harm the passengers out of overt intolerance towards PAOK supporters.
Four passengers were injured in the incident and the bus and a car were damaged.
The prosecution has requested the Zagreb Municipal Court to extend custody for the suspects.
