Inspired by the momentum of the U.S. Occupy Wall Street movement, activists in Zagreb will gather on Saturday, October 15, to protest against corporations and neoliberal capitalism and thus join the global civil movement which started in Manhattan a month ago.

Similar protests on Saturday will be held on all continents and in about 700 cities.

"Croatia can proudly say that it is part of that movement,", organisers of the Croatian protest said on their facebook page "15.O (worldrevolution) in Croatia", adding that the protest would be held at 1800 hours Saturday in Zagreb's central Ban Jelacic Square.

Since September 17 protesters have camped out in a park in Lower Manhattan near Wall Street, rallying against billions of dollars in bailouts banks received during the financial crisis, which pushed the U.S. economy into recession.

According to the website of United for Global Change, http://15october.net/, there are 869 cities in 71 countries where protests are being planning.

The protests which will be held in several Croatian cities are supported by the activists of the Civic Action, the Citizens Social Network, teaching staff and students of the Croatian faculty of Philosophy and the Croatian trade union federation.
