Serbian Justice Minister Snezana Malovic said on Saturday Croatia had forwarded to Serbia an updated list of people convicted, charged or suspected of war crimes in Croatia.

Malovic said Croatia had forwarded an updated list which contains the names of 15 people more than the one forwarded in July 2010, namely the names of a total of 1,549 people.

Malovic therefore called on all interested citizens to send a written request to the Serbian Justice Ministry to re-establish their status before Croatia's judicial bodies.

The Croatian Justice Ministry confirmed on Thursday that it had received from the Serbian authorities a list with the names of 33 people tried on war crimes charges by military courts of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ) and the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ).

The Croatian ministry said that proceedings against 26 people on the list have been suspended.

The ministry said on its website that three people on that list have already been informed that proceedings have been launch against them, adding that the Croatian authorities would notify another four persons within the deadline stipulated by the law.
