Three people injured in Thursday's demonstrations in Zagreb

Two protesters and one police officers sustained light injuries in Thursday's anti-government rally in Zagreb, Zagreb police reported on Friday, adding that misdemeanour charges were pressed against the organisers of the event as they failed to report the rally, as well as against seven protesters for disturbing public peace and order and against two other for throwing firecrackers.

According to police estimates, some 500 people gathered in streets leading the St. Mark's Square where public rallies are banned by the Public Order Act. Of this number, 200 demonstrators were in Radiceva Street and 300 in Basaricekova.

The police officer that was lightly injured is female.

Ivan Pernar, who organised the protest rally via Facebook, attempted the penetrate a police cordon and earned misdemeanour charges, as he failed to report the rally.

Police said that during last night's anti-government, the demonstrators clashed with the police, throwing bottles, construction material and a traffic sign, adding that 11 persons were taken into custody of whom one was released.

Three vehicles were damaged during the protest, including a police vehicle. Three garbage containers were set on fire.

The demonstrators rallied in Ban Jelacic Square around 6 pm and headed for the government building. At one point, the demonstrators clashed with the police, throwing bottles, rocks and fireworks as well as tear gas at the officers.

This was the second protest rally this week organised by Ivan Pernar through Facebook.
