The president of the Homeland War Veterans and Volunteers Association, retired general Djuro Decak, said on Friday the Croatian government was responsible for the Bosnian State Court's ruling that allowed earlier today the extradition of Croatian veteran Tihomir Purda to Serbia, where he is wanted for war crimes.
"The government had nearly three years to solve the issue instead of having veterans now being chased around the world like animals. I strongly condemn the inconsistency of our policy," Decak told reporters.
He said the government should recall the Croatian ambassador in Belgrade and give the Serbian Embassy a protest note.
"The Republic of Serbia has spit into the hand of reconciliation which Croatian President Ivo Josipovic extended in good faith," he said.
