The Serbian Appellate Court on Thursday received appeals from the recently arrested wartime mayor of the southeastern Bosnian town of Trebinje, Bozidar Vucurevic, against the decision by the High Court in the Serbian town of Sabac to extend his detention and against the decision by the same court saying that the conditions have been met for his extradition to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, court registrar Natalija Adzic said on Thursday.

Adzic said that a decision on the appeals could be expected shortly.

Vucurevic was arrested at a Bosnia-Serbia border crossing in mid-April on an international warrant issued by Croatia which wants him for his role in the shelling of the historic town of Dubrovnik in the early 1990s.

A final decision on Vucurevic's extradition rests with Serbian Justice Minister Snezana Malovic.
