The Croatian retail company Getro was sold to Slovenia’s Mercator, while the realization of the sale, in addition to others, saw the participation of the Zagrebačka Banka
The transaction stands as an example of successful strategic partnership in the retail sector, which was hit hard by the financial crisis, and is an excellent example of regional cooperation.
Mercator has been present in Croatia since 2000. Following the acquisition of Getro, it became the second largest retail chain in Croatia with a market share of 8 to 9% and more than 4,500 employees.
