Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who was on a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in Sarajevo on Tuesday that his country would submit a request for full membership of the United Nations and that the application would be submitted to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, adding that he expected the support of 122 UN member countries that have so far recognised the Palestinian state.

We will not boycott America. We will continue to cooperate with them and talk in hope that they will help us, Abbas said commenting on announcements that the United States will block Palestinian requests at the UN Security Council.

We want cooperation and understanding with all countries and we don't want conflicts with anyone. Regardless of the results (of voting) in the UN we will return to negotiations because many problems such as border, security, status of Jerusalem require negotiations, Abbas told a news conference, expressing confidence Bosnia would support Palestinian positions.

Abbas arrived in Bosnia on Sunday. During his stay he held talks with top Bosnian officials. Abbas wrapped up his visit and travelled to Lebanon.
