The appeal which Ratko Mladic's lawyer filed against the Serbian war crimes court's decision that he can be transferred to the war crimes tribunal in The Hague arrived at the Belgrade court today, court officials told the press on Tuesday.

The appeal will be discussed by a panel of three judges, but it is not known whether they will discuss it today. They have three days to do so. If the appeal is rejected, the Bosnian Serb wartime military leader can be transferred to The Hague after the Serbian justice minister signs the extradition decision.

The Belgrade court said earlier the time of Mladic's extradition would not be revealed for security reasons.

Speaking on B92 radio today, Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said Mladic was allowed to visit his daughter's grave in Belgrade this morning, adding this was a humane act that did not amnesty him from responsibility for the crimes he was accused of.

Vekaric said Mladic was back in the war crimes court's detention unit within 22 minutes and that the visit to the grave was conducted under very tight security.

He said one of the main priorities of the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office was to investigate the people who helped Mladic hide for 16 years and to find the remaining Hague tribunal fugitive, Goran Hadzic.
