An increase in prices for breads and baked goods is inevitable. However, by how much general prices will rise is still unknown and they will be individually determined. Also on the rise are fuel prices, with Eurodiesel set to pass the 9 kuna mark

‘There will be some corrections but a general increase in food prices is not expected,’ said minister Petar Cobankovic, adding that the state can take some steps within the boundaries of their limitations, but cannot administratively determine prices.

Director of the Zitozajednica mills and bakeries association, Nada Barisic, says that ‘an increase in breads and baked goods prices is inevitable owing to an increase in production material costs.’ However, Barisic was unable to say when and by how much bread prices would rise, saying only that each member of the association will determine this for itself. Price corrections also depend on the expiration of agreements bakers have with retail chains, Barisic added.

FUEL PRICES UP AGAIN

As of midnight, retail fuel prices at INA stations have gone up 17 lipa per liter while Eurodizel will increase 20 lipa per liter, overshooting the 9 kuna mark. The new price for INA’s Eurosuper 95 will amount to 9.50 kuna per liter while Eurosuper BS 98 will sell for 9.86 kuna per liter. Eurodizel BS will retail for 9.02 kuna per liter, up from the 8.82 kuna price that was still under the 9 kuna breaking point.

Fuel prices are subject to change every 15 days based on the regulatory for determining oil product prices. The changes depend on prices on the Mediterranean oil market and the dollar exchange. According to the regulatory, prices are limited to 3% growth every other week.
