After questioning at the Sibenik County Court about a boating accident in which two people were killed earlier this week, the court's investigating judge on Friday extended detention for Zagreb entrepreneur Tomislav Horvatincic by 30 days to prevent him from tampering with witnesses and repeating the crime, Sibenik-Knin County Police said.
Horvatincic was questioned about the accident which occurred near the isle of Maslinovik in the Primosten archipelago on August 16, when his speedboat crashed into another boat, killing an Italian married couple that were aboard.
According to unofficial reports, Horvatincic stood mute and denied all the accusations made against him in an investigation request.
The State Prosecutor's Office said on its website today that the 63-year-old businessman was also suspected of not helping accident victims because he did not return to their sailboat or do anything to help after smashing into them.
