In the eleven months of 2009, Croatia's foreign trade was marked by a smaller fall in exports than in imports, resulting in the reduction of the country's foreign trade deficit, according to provisional figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
In the January-November period, Croatia's exports fell 21 percent to HRK50.6 billion, while the imports went down by 26.3 percent to HRK 102.99billion.
The foreign trade deficit in the first eleven months amounted to HRK 52.4billion, being cut by 30.8 percent on the year.
The coverage of imports by exports was 49.1 percent.
Expressed in euros, Croatia's exports totalled EUR 6.9 billion and importsEUR 14 billion.
Expressed in US dollars, the country's exports were USD 9.5 billion andimports USD 19.4 billion.
