The Croatian Army Chief-of-Staff Josip Lucic and his associates are in an official visit to the United States, where they arrived on January 9, at the invitation of the Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, the Croatian Defence Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

Lucic is scheduled to visit the Pentagon, the NATO transformation command, the Alliance Command Transformation in Norfolk, and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) in Tampa where he is expected to hold talks with top US military commanders.

On Monday, Lucic held talks with Admiral Mullen with whom he discussed the continuation of bilateral military cooperation, the participation of Croatian soldiers in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan and possibilities for new forms of cooperation, the statement said.

Lucic also held talks with the commander of the Minnesota National Guard, Major General Richard Nash.
