Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Thursday for talks on bilateral relations and the peace and reconciliation process.
Describing their meeting as fruitful, Abbas welcomed the announcement by Kosor, made during an earlier meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, that Croatia would soon appoint a non-resident representative to the Palestinian National Authority and thus formalise relations with it.
When asked when the Palestinian Authority would send its ambassador to Zagreb, Abbas said at a press conference that it could happen at any time.
When we have arranged everything, we will be honoured to send a Palestinian ambassador to Zagreb, he said.
After the talks, Kosor visited a rehabilitation centre for mine victims in Ramallah and invited a young Palestinian family to come to Croatia for rehabilitation.
The Croatian prime minister then travelled to Tel Aviv to attend a Croatian-Israeli economic forum.
