The Italian Corriere dela Sera paper with a daily circulation of 700,000 has named Dubrovnik as one of the three most interesting destinations for a romantic escape on Saint Valentine's Day, which is observed on February 14.
In an article run on Saturday, the paper recommends Dubrovnik, Rome and Monsummano in Tuscany as places to visit for Valentine's Day.
Dubrovnik is described as the new Saint Tropez and is praised for its favourable climate in mid-February.
Last year, the British Guardian paper placed Dubrovnik as the second most desirable destination for the holiday celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. The southern Croatian Adriatic resort was second on a list of 20 top world destinations.
