A sign written both in Latin and Cyrillic was put up at the police station building in Vukovar on late Tuesday afternoon after such dual-script sign was smashed by anti-Cyrillic protesters on Monday.

The police station is now the fifth public institution with dual-alphabet signs in that eastern Croatian town.

The four other are the building housing the state inspectorate, the local office of the Croatian Pension Insurance Fund, an office of the Croatian Employment Service and an office of the social welfare department.

All those buildings are now being protected by anti-riot police forces.
