A Croatian-Israeli economic forum in Tel Aviv on Thursday drew about 100 business people and concrete deals are expected to be signed, according to Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.
Kosor, who arrived in Israel on Wednesday, said that tourism offered a lot of potential for cooperation, notably medical tourism.
All the talks she has held in Israel and the Palestinian National Authority focused on the economy.
According to the president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Nadan Vidosevic, Croatia expects "certain concrete deals and we have devoted a lot of attention and have been working for more than half a year to promote medical tourism."
Representatives of two Croatian spas, Daruvarske Toplice and Biokovka, will hold talks with Israeli partners.
Vidosevic said Israelis would be encouraged to make greenfield investments in Croatia. He recalled that in the late 19th and the early 20th century, many major Croatian industrial branches had been tied to Jewish capital and the Jews who lived in Croatia.
Croatia and Israel could also cooperate in defence, which Croatian Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic and his Israeli counterpart Ehud Barak discussed today.
