President Ivo Josipovic on Monday elaborated on his statement on the constitutional law on national minorities' rights, saying his was a "message to two-faced politicians" and that "constant stories" about reasons for postponing the enforcement of said law were "petty politics that one should put an end to."

"The constitutional law is a civilisation achievement and constant stories because of which its enforcement is being postponed for this or that reason, the result being that it is not honoured either in employment or language use or any other way, represent petty politics that one should put an end to," Josipovic said responding to questions from the press.

"My message was, let's not keep the constitutional law just for show. The politicians who think it shouldn't be enforced with the excuse 'the time is not right' should summon the courage and move amendments to the constitutional law," he said, adding that he was certain there would be very few such people or none at all.
