German Chancellor Angela Merkel will not be able to to attend a celebration of Croatia's accession to the European Union scheduled to take place in Zagreb this weekend, a German government spokesman told the press on Wednesday.
The Chancellor had to cancel the planned visit to Zagreb "for lack of time", the spokesman said.
At the ceremony in Zagreb on June 30 Germany will be represented by Michael Link, Minister of State at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
