The Office of the High Representative (OHR) on Thursday approved the appointment of the government of the West Herzegovina Canton after vetting the ministers of the interior, justice and education, the OHR said in a press release.

Last week, High Representative Valentin Inzko suspended the appointment of the government in the cantonal assembly until the ministers were vetted.

"The Assembly of the Western-Herzegovina Canton was notified today that the vetting process has been completed and that the assembly may now adopt a new Decision on Approval of the Government of the Western-Herzegovina Canton," said the press release.

The OHR vetted and approved the appointment of Gordan Bradvica as interior minister, Vilson Crnjac as justice minister and Mario Busic as minister of education, science, culture and sport.

The OHR underlined that this vetting process did not prejudge the ongoing judicial review of the assembly's earlier vote of no confidence in the cantonal government.

Zvonko Jurisic, the removed cantonal prime minister, has lodged a complaint with the entity Constitutional Court about how his government was removed. MPs of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina, with support from independent MPs, removed the government only a month before general elections in the country.
