The police on Tuesday blocked streets leading to St. Mark's Square in Zagreb ahead of an anti-government rally scheduled for 1300 hrs Tuesday.
The protest rally was organised by the Alliance for Change via the online social network Facebook, and a score of demonstrators, who responded to the call, were stopped by the police at the accesses to the square, where government offices are located.
Public rallies in St. Mark's Square in the Croatian capital are banned by the Public Order Act, adopted in 2005.
