The Portuguese parliament on Friday ratified Croatia's Accession Treaty with the European Union, making Portugal the 15th EU country to do so, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs said.
Minister Vesna Pusic called her Portuguese counterpart Paulo Portas to thank him for the ratification, ministry spokeswoman Danijela Barisic told the media.
French and British officials announced in talks with their colleagues earlier this week that France and Great Britain were expected to ratify the treaty by year's end.
Croatia is scheduled to join the EU on July 1, 2013.
