The Serbian parliament on Monday elected a new, reshuffled government which now has 17 instead of 24 ministries and 21 instead of 29 members, including Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic who will also be the minister of finance.
Ivica Dacic remains a deputy PM and the interior minister. The reshuffled government will have three deputy premiers and one minister without a portfolio.
Vuk Jeremic remains the foreign minister, Dragan Sutanovac the defence minister and Snezana Malovic the justice minister.
During the vote, 148 of the 250 MPs were in the parliament, of whom 129 voted for the reshuffle, while 19 were against. Most of the opposition did not take part in the vote. After being elected, the new government members were sworn in.
Presenting the government's platform, Cvetkovic said the priorities would be working on Serbia's accession to the European Union, preserving Kosovo within Serbia, developing the economy and improving the standard of living, raising employment, developing a socially responsible state and a society of solidarity, fighting crime and corruption, and fully cooperating with the Hague war crimes tribunal.
