Four of the five suspects for whom the Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK) requested detention as part of an investigation into their involvement in the giving and taking of bribes and in abuse of office at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek were taken in for questioning before the Osijek County Court on Saturday.
A total of 39 people were arrested yesterday - five university professors, a lecturer and 21 undergraduates. They and other suspects, who were go-betweens in those alleged corruptive activities including bribery for passing exams, are to be questioned.
