The INA oil and gas company said on Thursday it had removed technical difficulties on its gas platforms in the northern Adriatic caused by extremely cold weather in the country, adding that full production would resume later in the afternoon and that stable gas deliveries had been ensured for Croatian consumers.

Emergency gas imports, caused by reduced production in the northern Adriatic, will not be necessary as of Friday.

The company will continue importing the necessary gas quantities to meet the significantly increased consumption caused by extremely low temperatures which are expected to continue in the coming days. Gas consumption in Croatia continues to be at record-high levels due to low temperatures, the company said.

Two days ago, INA reported that due to technical problems it had suspended gas production on six of its 16 platforms in the northern Adriatic and reduced gas production from 3.3 million to 1.3 million cubic metres per day.
