Thirty-one Croatian companies have made Deloitte's Adria Top 100 in the Adria region and the first according to last year's sales revenues was the Agrokor group with EUR 3.64 billion, while the T-HT group was the most profitable company in the region with EUR 251 million in net profits, representatives of Deloitte's Croatian office said on Thursday.
Agrokor was the earnings leader in the Adria region for the third year running and two other Croatian companies made the top ten - INA ranked second with EUR 3.55 billion and the HEP group ranked fifth with EUR 1.68 billion in earnings.
Slovenian companies were the most numerous in the rankings, as many as 36, followed by Croatia's 31, Serbia's 19, Bosnia and Herzegovina's eight, Macedonia's four, and Montenegro's two.
The 100 biggest regional companies generated a 10 per cent revenue growth. Croatian companies' revenues grew at a lower rate - three per cent. Two-thirds of the companies recorded an increase in both earnings and profits, while in Croatia 45 per cent of the companies did so.
Manufacturing companies generated the highest revenue growth - 26 per cent.
The list is dominated by consumer goods and energy companies, each making up one-fourth of the list, while manufacturing companies account for 23 per cent of the list.
Forty-two per cent of Croatian companies are in the consumer goods sector. Apart from Agrokor, among the top 40 are Podravka, which ranked 27th with EUR 483 million in revenues, the Adris group, which ranked 37th with EUR 383 million in revenues, and the Vindija group, which ranked 38th with EUR 380 million in revenues.
The top 10 companies by net profits are dominated by telecommunications and energy companies, including five from Croatia - T-HT, which ranked first, the HEP group, INA, Pliva, and Vipnet.
