Earlier this week, Dinamo Zagreb Executive President Zdravko Mamic stated from London that Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was 'in love' with Luka Modric and that he would do everything in his power to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
It’s never good for a transfer to be leaked to the public too early, and – unless Mamic was stretching the truth – this case is no different as relations have cooled.
‘Luka is a fine player, but we’re not discussing him right now. In addition, now is not the time to talk transfers. If we go looking for someone, I believe we will get them,’ Ancelotti said of Chelsea’s rumored interest in the Croatian midfielder.
It is clear that Chelsea has some interest in Modric – and when Chelsea’s on the prowl, they’re looking for easy game. But cooling the situation in this way doesn’t mean much as this story may still end with one of two possible epilogues.
