In less than 24 hour’s time, Turkish outfit Besiktas signed another immense talent. After bagging Atletico Madrid’s Portuguese attacking left-winger, Simao, Besiktas signed compatriot Hugo Almeida from German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
Besiktas is set to release an official statement later on in the day, but most Turkish outlets have reported the second deal as signed and sealed. The Turkish Süper Lig outfit has thus bolstered its attacking line with the Portuguese forward.
Hugo Almeida will spend the next three and a half seasons at the Fiyapı İnönü after Besiktas cash out the transfer fee estimated to be worth between €2-3 million.
Besiktas was able to sign the attacker so cheaply as his contract with Werder Bremen was set to run out in the summer when he would have been able to leave the club without fee. Simao’s situation was much the same at the Vincente Calderon.
