The former State Secretary with the Ministry of Economy, Bianca Matkovic, was sworn in as the ruling Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) newest member of Parliament on Friday.
Matkovic later told the press it was a privilege for her to represent the interests of her party and her voters in Parliament.
Reporters wanted to know how she was coping with stories that the HDZ group in Parliament considered her "an unwanted child" claiming that she was more inclined to former HDZ leader Ivo Sanader than to the party's current leadership.
"I haven't noticed that I am unwanted. As could be seen, today my party colleagues and friends voted for my return and I don't see any problems here," Matkovic said.
Asked if Deputy Speaker Vladimir Seks told her again, as she was leaving the Parliament chamber, that he would "make her life hard", which he had allegedly said after she announced that she would activate her term in Parliament, Matkovic said: "No, he congratulated me."
