When we talk about Christmas, we cannot turn a blind eye to what a concrete man is living, Cardinal Josip Bozanic told Croatian Catholic Radio on Wednesday when asked why Christmas sermons delivered by Croatian bishops focused on health education and warnings about flaws of the sexual education programme.

Bozanic stressed the Church supported health education, but wanted to point out to areas with problems.

Christmas is for a man and when it comes to Christmas than it is about a man. When we talk about Christmas, we cannot turn a blind eye to what a concrete man is living. Helping that man brings peace and love into our environment, Bozanic said in the interview.

"We are talking about education which is being imposed in public schools. Those schools are not state-owned and the government cannot act as the master. The government should be in the service of those schools," Bozanic said in the interview.
