The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) and the Export Development Bank of Egypt have signed a cooperation agreement as part of a two-day visit of a Croatian delegation led by Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor to Cairo and a Croatian-Egyptian economic forum in the Egyptian capital.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday by HBOR Management Board chairman Anton Kovacev and the president of the Egyptian bank, Hisham Hassan, the HBOR said in a statement on Thursday.
The document regulates cooperation and the exchange of information in investment projects between the two countries as well as their joint ventures in third countries.
In 2002, an agreement was signed by the HBOR and the Export Credit Guarantee Company of Egypt (ECGE).
In 2009, trade between Croatia and this northern African country totalled USD 110 million, with Croatia's exports amounting to USD 97 million, and imports from Egypt to USD 12.6 million.
